Assistance for Seniors
Seniors qualify for more assistance than any other group, and use less of it. Social Security often lands just above the income limit for one program and just below it for another, so it pays to check each one. Seniors also get easier rules in several programs: SNAP has a simplified application and a medical expense deduction for anyone over 60, and Lifeline accepts SSI or Medicaid as proof without an income check.
