Contact Us

We’re glad you’re here. GovBudgets is run by a real, reachable person — and hearing from readers is genuinely how this site gets better.

Before You Write: Can We Actually Help?

Because we cover government programs, we get two very different kinds of messages. Here’s the honest breakdown so you don’t waste your time:

  • Things we CAN help with:
  • Questions about how a program works or how to apply
  • “I got denied — what now?” type questions about the application process
  • Corrections — a rule changed, an income limit updated, a link broke
  • Suggestions for programs or topics you’d like us to cover
  • Feedback on a guide that was confusing or missing a step
  • Things we CANNOT help with (and who can):
  • Checking your application status — only the agency or provider you applied through can do that.
  • Accessing, changing, or submitting an application for you — we are not a government agency.
  • Legal advice — LawHelp.org can help you find one in your state.
  • Emergencies — if you’re facing an immediate crisis (utility shutoff, no food, eviction), don’t wait for an email reply. Call 211 (or visit 211.org)

The Best Way To Reach Us

We personally read every message and aim to reply within 2–3 business days. This is a small operation run by one person, not a call center — thanks for your patience.

You can reach us at [email protected]

Corrections Policy

Program rules, income limits, and application processes change constantly, and catching every change immediately isn’t always possible. If you spot something outdated or incorrect in a guide, please tell us — corrections get top priority.

When you report an error, include the guide’s URL and, if you can, a link to the official source showing the current rule. Verified corrections are fixed promptly, and the guide’s “Last verified” date is updated.

A Security Note (Please Read)

We will never email you first asking for personal information. GovBudgets.com will never contact you requesting your Social Security number, banking details, benefits account login, or any application information — not by email, phone, text, or social media.

If you receive a message claiming to be from GovBudgets asking for any of this, it is a scam. Please don’t respond to it — and if you forward it to us, we’ll warn other readers.

For the same reason, please don’t include sensitive personal information in your messages to us. To answer your question, we never need your SSN, case number, banking information, or exact income figures — a general description of your situation is always enough.

Media & Partnership Inquiries

Journalists, researchers, and organizations working on benefits access are welcome to get in touch at the email above with “Media” or “Partnership” in the subject line. Note: we don’t publish sponsored posts or paid guest content — no exceptions, so those pitches can be skipped.
